C.1870s. Shoshone women's boot moccasins. Tanned buckskin, soft
soles, sinew-sewn, glass seed beads. These are typical one-piece moccasins
of the Shoshone-Bannock of Fort Hall that feature built-in leggings.
Provenance suggests it was carried in dances. Collected in 1876 by Indian
Agent William H. Danilson, Fort Hall Reservation, ID. This is the earliest
documented pair of moccasins found during the research. Cat. No.
