C.1890 Shoshone Moccasins. Separate soft sole construction, as
opposed to more commonly found rawhide soles. Sinew-sewn seed beads.

The design is similar to one use on Crow moccasins, but the colors and beading
technique are very typical of Shoshone
or Bannock beading. According to Drusilla Gould, these may have belong to
a medicine person, or perhaps were used in events like raiding. Collected by Emile Granier on the Wind
River Indian Reservation and accessioned in 1898.
