C.1870-1890. Shoshone beaded and quilled bow quiver. Yellow ochered deerskin, seed beads, dyed quills. The tag indicates the quiver belonged to "Taigee, War Chief of the Shoshones." Tigee was a son-in-law of Chief Washakie of the Wind river Reservation. Collected by Emile Granier; accessioned in 1898. Cat. No. E203809. Courtesy NMNH. |
