C.1960. Shoshone beaded bag made by Helene Bonatsie from Wind River Reservation. This piece shows cross cultural influence. The basic bag design is Apache; constructed of 3 tulip-shaped pieces of leather and then machine stitched. The beads are called "bugle" beads and are tubular in shape.
