A Gallery of Shoshone-Bannock Beadwork

1950-present

In the modern era, Shoshone-Bannock beadwork takes on two primary forms.  The first is the use of very realistic floral designs, including the dominant use of the now-famous "Shoshone Rose."  The second is a movement toward geometric designs of triangles, slanting parallelograms, abstract mountains, etc.  There is also a continuation of the use of figural images, including horses, elk, deer, buffalo, etc.

The beaded items below are arranged in a rough chronological order.  Oldest examples are shown first.  Click on thumbnails to see larger image and provenance/source.
