C.1890. Large beaded Lemhi Shoshone saddle bag. Green, white, blue, and cobalt seed beeds. Variation of
boxed eye design on edges. Approximately 24" wide. A note
accompanying the bag indicates that hide is mountain sheep. Possibly, this could be the work
of a Sheepeater Shoshone who joined the Lemhis. Collected from
the Lemhi Shoshone Agency, Salmon, Idaho. On display at the Lemhi County
Historical Museum, Salmon, ID. . |
