C.1890-1910. Although this pipe bag is attributed as Shoshone, it may actually
be Lakota or Crow. Shoshone culture did not place an emphasis on pipe
ceremonies and thus pipe bags are unusual. Brain tanned buckskin, dyed porcupine quills, seed beads,
cotton and sinew thread, eagle down feathers. Beads are sinew-sewn
