C.1900-1920.  Painting on elk hide, attributed to Charles Washakie, son of Chief Washakie.   The Royal H. Balcom, who served as warden of the Episcopal Mission of Saint Michael's in Ethete, Wyoming, collected this hide between 1917 and 1926.   Click here or on the image to see more details.  Size is 68 inches wide and 50 inches tall.   Cat.
