C.1900.  Painting on elk hide, attributed to George Washakie, son of Chief Washakie.   Depicts buffalo hunt scene & Sun Dance.  Click here or on the image for a close-up view.  This is the only one of the 3 George Washakie hides in the NMAI collection with dated provenance.  Purchased by Howard C.
