C.1870.  Shoshone parfleche.  The solid color blocks in the corners are generally associated with Shoshone parfleche painting, but there is some possibility that this is Crow.  Another Shoshone marker is the use of only 2 tie holes.  Crow work is quite similar, but their use of diamond motifs generally are more elongated than that of Shoshones.  Buffalo hide,  28" long x 12.75" wide. Courtesy private collection.
