C.1870. Shoshone parfleche. The solid color blocks in the
corners are generally associated with Shoshone parfleche painting, but there is
some possibility that this is Crow. Another Shoshone marker is the use of
only 2 tie holes. Crow work is quite similar, but their use of diamond
motifs generally are more elongated than that of Shoshones. Buffalo hide,
