FORT WASHAKIE ANECDOTES, LIFE, AND STORIES

Each Army post on the frontier housed individuals of every rank and social status, from commanding officers to junior officers, from seasoned sergeants to raw recruits, and from the various contractors, laundresses, and civilian employees to hangers-on.  The characters who inhabited these remote posts brought with them the human traits found in every society, from true goodness to villainy and everything else in between.  Their stories offer a glimpse about life in a frontier outpost.
